About sentinelpeak

Year-round tourism, taught from experience

Sentinelpeak is a Limerick-based online learning platform built around one specific challenge: how tourism operators, guides, and destination managers keep audiences engaged and revenue flowing across every season. Founded in 2023, the platform draws on fieldwork, data, and direct practitioner input to structure its lecture programmes.

Seasonality is a structural problem, not a marketing one

Most tourism businesses lose between 30% and 60% of their annual footfall during off-peak months. The common response — discounting, short-term promotions, social media pushes — addresses symptoms rather than causes. sentinelpeak's curriculum was built around a different starting point: understanding why demand drops and what operational, product, and pricing decisions actually change that pattern.

The lecture series covers demand modelling, off-season product design, partnership structures, and digital distribution channels. Instructors draw on specific regional cases from Atlantic Europe, the Baltics, and Southeast Asia — places where operators have found ways to maintain occupancy and visitor numbers outside peak windows without relying on heavy discounting.

Content is delivered asynchronously, allowing learners in different time zones to work through material at a pace that fits around operational demands. Each module includes scenario-based exercises drawn from real destination management decisions.

People behind the programme

How the lectures are structured

Each module opens with a documented case — a specific destination or operator that faced a measurable seasonality problem. Learners work through the decisions that were made, the data that informed them, and the outcomes that followed. The structure is deliberately non-prescriptive: there are rarely single correct answers, and the exercises reflect that.

Modules are released on a rolling basis, with new case material added as the platform's practitioner network contributes updated scenarios. Learners retain access to all completed modules indefinitely.

  • Asynchronous delivery — no fixed schedules or time-zone constraints
  • Scenario exercises based on documented operator decisions
  • Rolling content updates from the practitioner network
  • Direct access to instructor Q&A threads per module
